Older Driver Safety New York
Many older drivers are very safe drivers. Older drivers are more likely than younger drivers to use seat belt regularly and follow the rules of the road. Their years of experience in handling different road and traffic conditions are invaluable But some ways mature drivers can be even safer. Being careful about your health and taking simple precautions plays a big part in staying safe when driving.
Physicians Reporting form
This form is provided for use by a physician, physician assistant, or nurse practitioner to report an individual whose driving ability may be affected due to some physical or mental health.

New York Statistics

Governor's Traffic Safety Committee
The New York State Governor's Traffic Safety Committee (GTSC) coordinates traffic safety activities in the state and shares useful, timely information about traffic safety and the state's highway safety grant program.
Paratransit Access-A-Ride Program
The MTA’s New York City Transit Access-A-Ride (AAR) Paratransit Service provides public transportation for eligible customers with disabilities that prevent them from using the public buses and subways.
Metropolitan Transportation Authority Reduced Fare Program
Reduced fares are available for riders who are 65 or older or riders who have qualifying disabilities. The reduced fare is half the base fare. (For example, the base fare for subways and local buses is $2.75, so the reduced fare is $1.35.)
