Reduced fares are available for riders who are 65 or older or riders who have qualifying disabilities. The reduced fare is half the base fare. (For example, the base fare for subways and local buses is $2.75, so the reduced fare is $1.35.)
Project CART has been providing seniors with free individual and group transportation for over 30 years! Each year, thousands of passengers ages 60 and over, including those with wheelchairs, living in Manhattan Community Districts #1 through #8 – get where they need to go
More than 70,000 one-way transportation trips are provided to seniors in Albuquerque and Bernalillo County annually. The trips vary from group rides to meal sites for lunch and activities to grocery stores, to individual rides to medical appointments. Transportation is also provided to volunteer stations for Foster Grandparents.
The Town of Exeter through the Exeter Parks and Recreation and the Council On Aging, offers a Taxi Ticket program through Academy Taxi. Under the program, residents over the age of 60 may purchase a book of 20 vouchers for $10 for which they can then use towards payment of their taxi transportation. The program is 50 percent subsidized by the town.
TASC is a community service organization based in Hampton, NH. It coordinates a group of volunteer drivers to transport persons, who can no longer drive themselves, to wherever the volunteer driver is willing to go.
