Alternate Transportation

The Vermont Public Transportation Association provides mobility choices for seniors (60+) and people with disabilities through various funding programs. These programs help Vermonters remain independent and active within their community. 

The Rides for Wellness Program provides rides for older adults, 60 years of age or older, with no other means of transportation to vital medical appointments such as dialysis, chemotherapy, and physical therapy. The program utilizes RAV4's and wheelchair accessible vans to accommodate various mobility needs.

Senior transportation service is available at all city-operated Senior Centers. On average 103,300 one way trips are provided to city-operated Senior Centers.

The Austin Parks and Recreation Department offers a variety of programs and services for people 50 years of age and older. Activities include traveling, pursuing old hobbies and learning new ones, socializing with friends, meeting new people, increasing knowledge, becoming and staying physically fit, supplementing income, contributing to the community and much more!

The Memphis Area Transit Authority (MATA) is the public transportation provider for the Memphis area. As one of the largest public transit operators in the state of Tennessee, MATA transports customers in the City of Memphis and parts of Shelby County on fixed-route buses, paratransit vehicles and vintage rail trolleys.
